In the inaugural season of the Lebanese Basketball Championship in 1949/50, Al-Riyadi Club set the stage for their dominance by securing the championship title.

The following season, 1950/51, they continued their winning streak, once again claiming the top spot and proving that their first victory was no fluke.

Year after year, Al-Riyadi continued to raise the bar, clinching the championship in 1951/52, and the list goes on, with each season bringing new triumphs.

This trend persisted for over seven decades, as Al-Riyadi consistently outperformed their rivals, securing the championship in a staggering number of seasons, including the most recent 2022/2023 season.

TRIUMPHS ON THE GLOBAL STAGE

1998 West Asian Basketball Championship in Jordan: Al-Riyadi made a significant mark in the world of basketball by winning the West Asian Basketball Championship in Jordan. This victory not only showcased their talent but also announced their arrival as a force to be reckoned with in the broader Middle Eastern region.

Bronze Medal at the 1998 Asian Basketball Championship in Malaysia: Al-Riyadi’s excellence was not limited to the West Asian region. They went on to secure a prestigious Bronze Medal at the 1998 Asian Basketball Championship in Malaysia. This achievement highlighted their ability to compete at the highest levels of international competition.

Five-time Champions of the Arabs with four consecutive titles from 2005 to 2009: Al-Riyadi’s dominance extended to the Arab world, where they secured the title of Arab Champions a remarkable five times. What’s even more impressive is that they achieved four consecutive titles from 2005 to 2009, showcasing their sustained excellence on the Arab stage.

Eleven-time winners of the Housameddine Hariri International Tournament: The Housameddine Hariri International Tournament has been a platform where Al-Riyadi consistently displayed their prowess. Al-Riyadi Club began its journey in Lebanese basketball in the late 1940s. They won their first Lebanese Basketball Championship in the 1949/50 season.Their success continued through the 1950s and 1960s with multiple championship wins.
1998
LATE 1990S PHASE
Al-Riyadi clinched the Lebanese Cup three times in 2006, 2007, and 2008.In 1998, they won the West Asian Basketball Championship and qualified for the Asian Basketball Championship.At the Asian Championship in Malaysia, they secured the Bronze Medal and earned individual awards.Al-Riyadi became the first Lebanese team to finish in the top three positions in the Asian Championship
